About Calum
I’m Calum, a Scottish geek/nerd/handyman who likes making messy systems a bit less chaotic.
Over the last few years I’ve:
- Helped charities modernise their IT and websites on very tight budgets
- Migrated organisations to Microsoft 365 and better hosting setups
- Built, broken, and rebuilt more servers and networks than I’d like to admit
- Walked long-distance routes like the Portuguese Coastal Camino
I enjoy projects that sit at the intersection of:
- Tech — web dev, automation, hosting, and infrastructure
- People — understanding how volunteers, staff, and clients actually work
- Reality — budgets, constraints, and the fact that not everyone loves new tools
Outside of screens you’ll usually find me:
- Walking with my dog Annie in woods, along beaches, or in the rain
- Cooking and experimenting with bread, pasta, and the occasional small-batch IPA
- Fixing things around the house or in the charity yard
This site exists as a living notebook: part portfolio, part lab book, part personal log.
