About Calum

I’m Calum, a Scottish geek/nerd/handyman who likes making messy systems a bit less chaotic.

Over the last few years I’ve:

  • Helped charities modernise their IT and websites on very tight budgets
  • Migrated organisations to Microsoft 365 and better hosting setups
  • Built, broken, and rebuilt more servers and networks than I’d like to admit
  • Walked long-distance routes like the Portuguese Coastal Camino

I enjoy projects that sit at the intersection of:

  • Tech — web dev, automation, hosting, and infrastructure
  • People — understanding how volunteers, staff, and clients actually work
  • Reality — budgets, constraints, and the fact that not everyone loves new tools

Outside of screens you’ll usually find me:

  • Walking with my dog Annie in woods, along beaches, or in the rain
  • Cooking and experimenting with bread, pasta, and the occasional small-batch IPA
  • Fixing things around the house or in the charity yard

This site exists as a living notebook: part portfolio, part lab book, part personal log.
